Functionality Of The Human Body

Development of the nervous system and spinal column

When two cells merge at the beginning of every new human life, a genetic plan is established. It determines, for example, the color of your eyes, your gender and many other details.

In order to be able to control and organize further growth, the nervous system is developed along with the first tissues that are formed. It is made up of the brain, the spinal cord and all of the (peripheral) nerves of the body. The nervous system controls the function of all tissues, organs and organ systems of the body.

Later, the central nervous system is protected by the cranial bone and 24 flexible vertebrae. Nerve roots branch out in pairs from each vertebrae through openings between the vertebrae (neuroforamina) and proceed to the organs and tissues that they control and regulate.

Due to the spinal column's structure, an altered movement or vertebral displacement can aggravate the sensitive nerve roots. This can result in dysfunctions with numerous symptoms such as pain and limited movement.
